Seventh class




Teachers: Luis and GloriaTopic: ClothesVocabulary: Jeans, shorts, dress, blouse, skirts, t-shirt, socks, shoes, glasses, hat, cup, sweater.Grammar: I am wearing, she is wearing, and he is wearing.Whose _____is this? Whose _______are these?Review: Numbers (1-20), alphabet, colors, family members.




They started the class with the hello song, with some variations on it and the kids stated to sing the song with the teacher Gloria in a different way.




Teacher Gloria presented the target vocabulary with some flashcards in which students practice the new vocabulary. Then, teacher Gloria did an interesting activity that was named The Laundry.  I like the activity and I will use it on my classes, I will just change something like use two clothes rack instead of one, because I consider that students need to have like an example in order to do it. The one that I will use, will be for continuous practicing the target vocabulary and the other one for the students in order to internalize the new vocabulary.




Something very useful in all classes is the total physical repose approach, in which students do some physical movements and they like it. Teacher Gloria introduce a new activity in order to practice the target vocabulary in which students touch the clothes that they were using and something that I like from this activity was that she changed the speed of the activity to slow to fast.



The last activity that teacher Gloria did was to get dress some friends that she brought to the class, they were Fabiola for the girls and Ricardo for the boys, those friends were pictures and students were ask to dress those pictures according to the picture. Teacher Gloria did and example and then students started to do the same with their friends. Here they have a little practice of the fine motor skills and this help students to have a time to practice that.





The practice time was given by teacher Luis. He started with a big memory game that was place on the wall. I consider that this types of practice helps students to internalize the target vocabulary, because they time to encounter it, also they learn from the mistakes that their classmates did. Teacher Luis develop the activity in a positive way and he took vocabulary from previous lesson and students practice the numbers and the colors.




The second practice was a fashion show, which I guess was something new and interesting for the students and they practice the target vocabulary with real objects in this case clothes. Also, they practice the gross motor skills when they tried it on the clothes, in order to know if they acquired the new vocabulary  teacher Luis asked them about what they had wearing.



The third practice was a mix between the bye-bye song and the cloth items. Teacher Luis had the attention of the students when he started to rapping the song and all the students like it. I guess he accomplished the objective of the class.





My  case of study.




 I consider that my case of study internalize the target vocabulary. She participated in all the activities. She learn the pronunciation of the target vocabulary and she also can write them.
